2010 Chevrolet AVEO Review and Prices
We have just caught hold of a rendering of what possibly is the future iteration of the Chevrolet Aveo. The Aveo has not been the company’s strong performer in India, and GM would be desperately hoping that the new model would change this. But before they put this model into the production line, they would be betting big on the diesel Aveo, which arrives in dealer showrooms later this year. The rendering shown here, called the Lova is planned for the Chinese market. It is expected in 2010-2011 and is codenamed the T300. Indians are certain to get this model as a replacement for the present Chevrolet Aveo.
The new model looks like a smaller brother to the stunning Chevrolet Cruze but look closer and things get clear. Cover the bowtie and you could have thought of it as the new Honda City. It is that close. Anyway, nothing as such is confirmed and when we get hold of something substantial, you will be the first to know. Chevrolet’s new Aveo5 hatchback makes its public debut today at the Los Angeles auto show, with a pricetag that will make it the least expensive vehicle sold in the U.S. when it goes on sale next year, Chevrolet says.
The new Aveo5 will also get 26/34 mpg, thanks to a fuel-efficient 1.6-liter four with 107 horsepower and 106 pound-feet of torque, and either a five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic. A driving range of 400 miles is promised.Available in base, LS, and LT versions, the Aveo5 arrives wearing new sheetmetal with a more sophisticated look than the previous version (the Aveo four-door sedan was renewed last year). Built in South Korea by GM Daewoo, the Aveo5 carries Chevrolet’s new signature front-end styling, with a gold Chevy bow framed by a larger grille. Larger taillamps and an available rear spoiler dress up the basic econobox look nicely. Inside, the cabin is said to be able to carry five adults. The rear bench has theater-style seating and a 60/40 split for cargo flexibility. Better interior materials are promised, with optional woodgrain, metallic, and carbon-fiber-look trim on the options list. Storage and convenience bins are found all over the interior, and some higher-end features like cruise control, XM and a large sunroof are also offered on the new Aveo5.
In terms of running gear, the Aveo5 is strictly by-the-numbers Asian economy car: MacPherson struts, a torsion-beam rear, and a short 97.7-inch wheelbase. Fourteen-inch wheels are standard, while 15-inchers (and anti-lock brakes) are optional. 2010 Chevrolet Aveo NY New York Automotive Giant, is Your 2010 Chevrolet Aveo Long Island Dealer If You are a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo NY New York shopper, NY New York Automotive Giant has the deal and the Chevrolet Aveo you have been looking for. The 2007 Aveo sedan and 2008 Aveo 5 are huge improvements over their predecessors; GM Daewoo has provided GM with a very significant center of small car expertise, and that shows in the latest products from the region. Small is in, and this segment is poised for much growth in the next few years, as fuel economy and low cost become more prevalent factors in the buying process. It’s important for GM to have a strong player in this segment, to capture the fuel and price-conscious as well as first time car buyers. Aveo has the potential to become an increasingly more important model for Chevrolet, and firmly establish a position at the top of it’s class.
In RIA, the Aveo stays true to it’s original mission of being frugal and economical, while adding distinctive style along the way. Who says cheap cant be cool? MPG is a big concern here, and enhancements are made on this model in regard to weight and aerodynamics. Following in that vein, horsepower is only increased modestly and being the line is held on weight, performance is increased as well. Moving inside, the Aveo is well designed to compliment it’s hip exterior. It shows a commitment to small car excellence in all areas. The interior is modern, with available navigation system and integrated switchgear with LED backlighting.
Starting at a low price of only $12,500 is the Base LS model, coming standard with a 5 speed manual and an improved next generation 2.0L 115HP ECOTEC 4. Next is the LT, starting at $14,350, also standard with a 5-speed manual. Starting at $16,150 new addition to the Aveo trim line is the top end LTZ model, coming standard with an automatic transmission and a 2.0L 125HP ECOTEC 4. Leather seating and a navigation system are optional on the Aveo LTZ, for those who want a well-equipped and high end small car.
Arriving around 2009 as an 2010, the production Aveo should benefit from a lot of positive publicity and advertising surrounding the Volt, and people looking into that car will be coming into Chevrolet showrooms to check out what the brand has. One thing is for sure; small cars have a big place in the future of the new GM. |
